Behind The Scenes: Meet Tiana
We were so stoked when we found out that Tiana, singer of the LA based hard rock band Varna is rocking our black moto jacket in their new video "My Heart".
We immediately wanted to find out more about the female front woman, who is just getting ready to play two shows at Warped Tour with her band. Luckily for us, we caught up with Tiana right before their performances next weekend, to chat about her inspirations, her rock ‘n roll dreams and the moment that changed her life:

When did you start and what did get you into singing:
I started singing when I was 2 years old and haven’t stopped! Every male on my father’s side is a fantastic musician.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you?
We are a hard rock/pop band. Think Breaking Benjamin meets Kelly Clarkson.
How does music influence your personal style?
Creating music and performing on stage is where I feel most alive, so I make sure to incorporate that feeling of power in my stage look.
How does your onstage outfits differ from your everyday look?
Night and Day! Everyone tells me I am two completely different people. If you see me during the day, you would never guess I’m a lead singer in a rock band.
Who are some female musicians that you find inspirational?
Mariah Carey has been my biggest female influence since I was 4 years old, personally and professionally. I admire all my female peers of course--Amy (Lee), Lzzy (Hale), Lacey from Flyleaf--any female who is on the same journey as us, paved the way or doing amazing things for our genre.
Is there a moment in your career that you feel really changed you?
The moment I heard the replay of our first single, ‘Down’ in the studio. We did it in one day. I felt it and I just knew we needed to get ready for something big. It was pure magic and one of the best feelings to ever experience.
What do you want to do in five years from now?
The same thing I am doing now in Varna. I want us to progress in our band, play for as many people as we can all over the world and continue to inspire people with our music.
