Meet Alexandra of Blackfaun
One part mermaid, one part gypsy, that is how we would best describe our girl crush of the month: Alexandra Ford of Blackfaun. We were more than stoked to sit down with the brown-haired beauty to get the deets on her next projects, summer trends, and her dream festival lineup.
When did you start and what did get you into blogging?
I started Blackfaun a little over a year ago. I had just graduated from an art school and had so much more free time to dedicate to it. A lot of people don't realize how much time and effort goes into a style blog, especially when you edit all your own photos. I've always wanted to be a part of the fashion world, but I never knew exactly what I wanted to do, or how I would do it. The first fashion blogger I remember reading about was Chiara Ferragni, and after reading about her hobbies and lifestyle I knew I wanted to have my own style blog.

Edgy boho mermaid!
What/who are the biggest inspirations for your style?
Moving to the west coast has been a huge inspiration. My lifestyle has shifted more towards the relaxed, bohemian, free spirit and my closet reflects that. I love nature and the ocean, and I love to incorporate that into my wardrobe.
What’s a summer trend you’re currently obsessing over?
Right now I'm obsessing over seashell statement jewelry and tropical palm-tree prints. Every summer I always obsess over the new rompers all my favorite brands come out with. My favorite piece I've bought this season is a tropical-printed Wayf romper!
Your dream festival line up?
I'd have to say... anything with Foster the People! I love their style. Some of my top favorite bands at the moment would have to be Bag Raiders, Grouplove, Ghost Loft, Royksopp, and Miike Snow. But my favorite song this week is Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd! I have it on repeat. ;)
What are you currently working on?
I'm currently working on some wire-wrapped coral necklaces, (I love to make jewelry), for an upcoming mermaid-style photoshoot. So excited!
A pretty attitude:
I think a pretty attitude is being completely confident in your own skin, and always trying your best to spread positive energy to everyone around you. I have found that being an uplifting, positive-minded person towards others has made me so much more confident with myself. One of my favorite quotes is from Legend of Korra: "You have light and peace inside of you. If you let it out, you can change the world around you."
