Meet Photographer Emilynn Rose

If you’re wondering who’s the master behind our latest lookbook photoshoot "Over The Hills And Far Away", you have to meet Emilynn Rose. She’s one of our rad Photographers here at Pretty Attitude who is always turning heads with her seriously amazing art. We recently chatted with the LA based mega babe to learn more about her inspirations, her dream festival line up and her funniest experience during one of her shoots.

1. How long have you been photographing and how did you start?

I've been doing photography since I was 16 years old, I'm 21 now, so 5 years!

I started photography because when I was 16 my mom was really anal about me having to find a career choice, but I didn't want to do anything with math or science, so this is when I decided to try out photography. When I bought my first camera I INSTANTLY fell in love with photography, and I knew, at that moment, I was meant to capture my art.

2. What does a typical day look like for you?

There's no typical day for me, every day is different. Which I love because I don't think I can do the same thing every day.

3. The funniest experience you had during a photoshoot?

The funniest experience that I had while during a shoot, which was pretty sad at the moment but is now a funny story, was when I went to Hawaii to do a shoot and I got food poisoning while I was there, but I didn't want to cancel the shoot, so the whole time I was sick to my stomach, but once I threw up I looked up at the models and said "Ok, I'm good LET'S DO THIS!" with a smile on my face. Then while we were shooting by the water, the ocean took my slippers away and for the 6 hour shoot I was throwing up and walking around the island shoeless! This moment could've been really bad, but I just kept going and tried to make the models laugh and still have a good time.

4. Where do you draw your inspiration from?

All my inspirations come from other amazing photographers, designers, artists and sceneries. I love sceneries, so when I see an awesome location that I want to shoot at, I will put together a shoot specifically for that location.

5. What would you do if you weren’t a photographer?

I honestly can't imagine my life without photography, I don't know what I would do because this is who I am.

6. With festival season coming up do you have any trend predictions for this upcoming season?

I am noticing that the boho indie and cowboy style mix is becoming a trend. The buckled belts, the hats, jackets with fringes, and cowboy boots. Also, the denim on denim style is definitely coming back!

7. If you could come up with your dream festival lineup, who would be in it?

Oh man I love so many artists, but as of right now this is who I'm into:

- Guns and Roses (Sucks that I'm missing them at Coachella)

- Coldplay

- The Chainsmokers

- Kygo

- Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

- Matoma

- Bryson Tiller

- Lost Frequencies

8. Do you have anything to say to the aspiring photographers who are reading this?

If you are an aspiring photographer, BE TRUE TO YOURSELF AND YOUR ART! It's what will differentiate you and it will keep you happy. Also, work hard and don't take any shortcuts. This life is about building yourself and your art and not trying to find an easy way to make money, because this career is not easy so you have to truly love what you do to stay motivated doing it.
